This Transportation Activities Pack provides opportunities to develop important preschool and kindergarten skills in a fun way while also learning about vehicles of the air, water and land. Both color and black and white formats are included, where possible, to suit your individual printing needs.

What’s included in this Transportation Activities Pack?

Literacy Activities Include:

• Transportation Vocabulary
  Including words and pictures, and transport categories into land, water and air vehicles.
• Alphabet Hunt & Trace
  Students look for the target letter on these activity mats and trace the match when they find it.
• Beginning Sound Balloons
  Students match the beginning sound balloon picture to the corresponding letter basket.

• Train Match
  Students follow the task cards to build trains of the same color and parts.
• Transportation Sorting
  Students sort the transport cards according to where they travel: air, water or land.
• Car Color Match
  Use the colored car park mat for students to park the colored cars in the correct spot.
• What Doesn’t Belong?
  Students look carefully at each collection of transportation pictures and decide which one doesn’t belong.
• Shadow Matching
  Students match each vehicle to its shadow card.

Math Activities Include:

• Park the Cars
  Each car park activity mat features different representations of numbers 1 to 10. Students must park the numbered cars in the correct spot on each mat.

• Train Numbers
  Students trace the numbers with dry erase markers then record the number before and after it on the train carriage.
• 2D Shape Activity
  This activity asks students to match the different shaped wheels to the corresponding bus.
• Train Counting Task Cards
  Students load the correct number of freight boxes/blocks to each train. Full color and partial color formats included.

Fine Motor Activities Include:

• Trace and Stop at the Lights
  These task cards ask students to trace the path of the car, stop at the red light, then continue to the end.
• Playdough Mats
  Use these activity mats as a guide to create different vehicles using playdough.
• Vehicle Craft
  Students follow the instructions to cut and arrange pieces to build a car and a submarine. Color and black and white formats included.
• Name Craft
  Students choose a submarine template and add the correct uppercase and lowercase letters to build their name.
